Embark on an enriching hiking expedition through the Sierra Baguales, a hidden gem of the Andes that promises awe-inspiring landscapes and a touch of magic.

Sierra Baguales Hiking Expedition

Your journey begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Puerto Natales at 7:30 am, setting the stage for an exciting day in the Sierra Baguales.

Upon reaching our destination, we'll settle in with some coffee and cookies to fuel our adventure. Following this delightful break, a brief half-hour stroll will lead us to the Irene Lagoon, a stunning lake known for being home to magnificent Andean condors. Here, amid breathtaking scenery, we will delve into captivating stories surrounding the colonization of Chilean Patagonia.

After this engaging interlude, we will hop back on the bus and proceed to the trailhead for the second segment of our hike through the Sierra Baguales. Prepare to trek 12.5 kilometers (7.8 miles) through mountainous terrain, where we will unearth marine fossils over 50 million years old. This striking evidence of the area's submerged past will be brought to life as we explore.

Next, we will ascend to a viewpoint situated 1200 meters (4,000 feet) above sea level, offering panoramic views of the majestic peaks and sprawling valleys beneath us. As we soak in the captivating vistas, we'll indulge in a hearty picnic lunch featuring a sandwich, a piece of fruit, a cereal bar, nuts, and water.

Concluding our day, we will return to Puerto Natales, arriving back at your hotel by 6:30 pm.
