August 24, year 79 A.C.: the ground begins to tremble, the sky blackens and Vesuvius unleashes its wrath. Join us on a day trip to Pompeii from Naples to relive the history of Pompeii at its fascinating ruins.

Day Trip to Pompeii

At the designated time, we'll depart from the center of Naples and head out on the bus to the archaeological site of Pompeii. After a drive of approximately 40 minutes, we'll arrive at the remains of the ancient Roman city. On August 24 in the year 79 A.C., Vesuvius unleashed its fury upon Pompeii. We'll learn of the volcanic devastation while passing through its streets, and marveling at how the ashes covered a large part of the urban center.

The city was buried until the 18th century. We'll explain how it was rediscovered through the excavations sponsored by Carlos III. On our tour, we'll pass through the forum where the Romans met and traded and learn about their way of life by visiting public buildings like the baths and the lupanar. In the theater, we’ll see remains echoing with historical representations.

After this 2-hour tour, we’ll return to the pickup point in Naples, with a total duration of 3.5 to 4.5 hours.
