We'll meet at the specified time in central Piazza Dante and take a short stroll to the Museo dell'Acqua. Prepare to explore Naples' undergrounds!
As we descend 35 meters underground (114 feet), we'll explore various tunnels and galleries beneath the surface. Along this unique route, we'll uncover the remains of an ancient Greco-Roman aqueduct, dating back to when the city was known as Neapolis.
Continuing our tour of the Museo dell'Acqua, we'll admire the remains of an ancient cistern and explore the ruins of the largest underground space in Naples, known as the Prince's Pool. You will learn about the origin of its name!
Along the route under the city, approximately 1 kilometer (0.8 miles), we'll also observe the area that was used as an aircraft shelter during World War II bombings.
Finally, after 1 hour and 15 minutes, we'll return to the surface, bringing our tour to an end.
