Pompeii & Vesuvius Day Trip

Lava and ash petrified the citizens of Pompeii, creating a significant historical record. This excursion allows you to explore the history of the volcanic eruption and includes climbing the volcano.

Description

At the scheduled time, pickup will be at your hotel in Naples, the train station, or the marina for a 7-8 hour day trip.

After a 40-minute drive, we will arrive at Pompeii, a renowned archaeological site. Following the eruption of Mount Vesuvius on August 24, 79 AD, the town's inhabitants were entombed. Accompanied by our guide, we'll visit significant sites excavated in the 18th century: the forum, the thermal baths, the theatre, and the Roman brothel, which contains various erotic paintings.

After our visit to Pompeii, we will have a light lunch with soft drinks or water before heading to Torre del Greco to begin our ascent of Vesuvius. The ascent offers unmatched views of Naples Bay.

Upon descending Vesuvius, we will return by bus to Naples, completing the excursion after 7-8 hours.

Language

During the bus ride, an accompanying guide will provide explanations.During the ascent on foot, park guides will assist, but English-speaking guides may not be available during this part of the excursion.

Important

Pickup service at the port of Naples is exclusively for cruise ship passengers. For those staying in the city, pickup is available at your hotel or nearest train station.
