Abseiling in Palermo

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the La Gaitana Monument in Neiva to begin our abseiling activity in Palermo. Before leaving, we'll have coffee and a brief introduction. Afterwards, we'll travel to Palermo, where we'll enjoy a Colombian-style breakfast.

The starting location for our abseiling will depend on the weather, with our guide selecting from two sites on the activity day.

Cañón de los Ídolos (Canyon of the Idols)

Post-breakfast, we'll hike to Cañón de los Ídolos. Our first stop will be the Simio swimming pool to cool off and learn about aboriginal legends. We will then proceed to the deepest section of the canyon, the Boquerón de los Ídolos.

We will set up equipment and begin our descent down the Frying Pan Stone, a site known for its historical ritualistic sacrifices. After lunch, we will don lifejackets and navigate downstream to Stone Island.

We will return to Palermo, and then to Neiva, concluding after approximately 11 hours.

Cascadas del Fraile (Fraile Waterfalls)

This excursion towards the Fraile Waterfalls involves a scenic 1.5-hour trail through San Luis and Vereda Alto Paraguay. Upon reaching the waterfall entrance, a 2.5-hour hike will commence along a circuit of 5 waterfalls and natural swimming pools, with breaks for swimming.

After a typical lunch, we will proceed to the chosen area for abseiling at the Fraile Waterfalls. Equipment will be set up for our descent, where we will embrace the adventure and scenic views.

Following the descent, we will make our way back to Palermo, concluding our activity in Neiva after about 11 hours.
