Frigiliana is considered one of the prettiest towns in Spain. This trip from nearby Nerja allows you to explore this captivating location.
Frigiliana Half-Day Tour Itinerary
After collecting you from your hotel in Nerja, we head directly to Frigiliana, a charming location in the Axarquía region of Malaga, only a 20-minute drive away.
Frigiliana is a member of the ‘Association of the Prettiest Towns in Spain.’ During a guided walk around the old town center, you will appreciate its historical significance. The Mudejar neighborhood notably showcases the architectural vestiges of Muslims who remained after the Christian reconquest.
Among the whitewashed buildings, you will see Renaissance and Baroque monuments, including the Palace of Condes, also known as “El Ingenio,” and the 17th-century church of San Antonio. Following the guided tour, you will have free time to explore at your own pace.
Next, we head 5 miles north to El Acebuchal, a hamlet known as ‘the village of ghosts’ after its evacuation by Franco's Civil Guard in 1948. Abandoned until 1998, its buildings were restored. You will enjoy a delicious local lunch in one of its restaurants, including a starter (salad or soup) and a main course that varies daily.
After lunch, we will return you to your hotel.
