Keur Moussa Monastery Trip

We will depart early in the morning from your hotel in Saly heading north into Senegal's coastal region of Thiès.

Upon arrival at the Keur Moussa monastery, the Benedictine monks celebrate mass every Sunday, enhanced by music played on traditional West African instruments such as the kora, balafon, and djembe.

This unique experience allows you to witness the passion of the monks during their Gregorian chants. The ceremony lasts approximately one hour and reflects the cultural diversity shaped by the region's coastal history.

After the mass concludes, visit the shop where artisan products, handcrafted by the monks, are available for purchase as souvenirs.

We will then return to Saly by bus, arriving around 12 PM.
