Alpes-Maritimes Train Ride
- 14 - 12 Stunden
On this route on the Train of the Alps, we'll depart from Nice and travel through the Var Valley, a notable area in the South of France.
Tour Description
We will meet at the Gare des Chemins de Fer de Provence train station. Our first stop is Entrevaux, recognized for its scenic views. Visitors will explore the Royal Citadel, accessed via a 150-step staircase, and view the medieval drawbridge overlooking the Var Valley. Additionally, a visit to a charming baroque cathedral will enrich the historic experience.
After lunch at a local restaurant, we will continue by train to a nearby medieval village known for its troglodyte features. A scenic 5-kilometer (3.1 miles) walk through an ancient chestnut forest awaits. This route requires decent physical fitness. Depending on the group's pace, we can choose between a shorter 4-kilometer or a longer 8-kilometer circuit. You'll enjoy the fresh air of the Alps while exploring the forest.
We will conclude the excursion, lasting approximately 13.5 hours, returning to Nice.
Early Return
If preferred, guests may return to Nice after the visit to the Entrevaux citadel and lunch, without the guide, with arrival around 4 pm.
