Copahue Volcano Hike

On this hike up the Copahue Volcano, we will explore an active crater in the Andes mountain range.

Hike Details

The adventure begins with a pickup from your hotel in Caviahue. We will drive in an off-roading vehicle to the starting point of the hike.

Upon arrival, we will prepare our gear and start the ascent. Throughout the hike, we will observe the fumaroles of this active crater, known as the most active volcano in the Andean region in recent decades.

As we progress, we will discuss the studies conducted by Chilean and Argentine research centres regarding the volcano. In the third stage, located in the El Arenal area, we will don hard hats and make our final push to the summit. The volcanic peaks and the smell of sulphur will indicate our approach to the crater's lagoon. Here, you will have 30 minutes of free time to rest and enjoy a warm drink.

After this break, we will descend and return to Caviahue in the off-roading vehicle, concluding our experience back at your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
