Copahue Volcano Hike

On this hike up the Copahue Volcano, we'll tackle the climb up one of the most impressive and active craters in the Andes. A true adventure!

Hike Details

Join us to ascend one of the most important volcanoes in the Andes. Our adventure starts with hotel pickup in Caviahue, followed by an off-road vehicle ride to the hike's starting point.

Upon arrival, we will prepare for the trek with walking shoes and hiking sticks before beginning the ascent. The route allows glimpses of the fumaroles from this active crater, recognized in recent decades as the most active volcano in the Andean region.

During the second phase, we will discuss the studies and interest in Copahue Volcano from Chilean and Argentine research centers. As we enter the final hiking stage in the El Arenal area, we will equip ourselves with hard hats for the summit attempt.

Approaching the summit, the smell of sulphur will indicate we are nearing the crater's lagoon, where you will have 30 minutes of free time to relax and enjoy a warm drink. After this experience, we'll begin our descent and return to Caviahue in the off-road vehicle, concluding the tour at your hotel after a total of 8 hours.
