Day Trip to Las Máquinas

On this day trip to Las Máquinas, we will explore natural boiling springs and fumaroles and visit Callos Lagoon's hot springs.

Day Trip Details

After picking you up from your hotel in Caviahue, we will head northeast towards Copahue. We will stop briefly at the Mirador de Caviahue to view the Copahue Volcano and lake.

After approximately 30 minutes, we will arrive at Las Máquinas. Here, we will explore fumaroles and boiling springs, known as Las Máquinas because the sounds they emit resemble steam engines.

We will then visit the old Bustillo Inn, site of South America's first geothermal power plant, where we will view its old geothermal well and discuss its historical significance.

Next, we will go to the village of Copahue and visit Agua de Limón, a natural hot spring. To conclude the tour, we will spend 45 minutes at Callos Lagoon in Copahue's Thermal Complex, allowing time to enjoy the warm waters.

Finally, we will return to Caviahue and drop you back at your hotel after a total of 4 hours.
