Gulf of Fonseca 2-Day Tour

Day 1

We'll meet in the morning to begin our tour of the Gulf of Fonseca, a protected area in the Pacific Ocean. Our first stop will be the volcano of Conchagua, located at the western end of the Gulf, offering panoramic views of the country.

When booking, you can substitute the visit to Conchagua Volcano for a visit to Las Tunas Beach, a spot for relaxation and local seafood.

The tour continues with a guided tour of Conchagua, including a visit to one of the oldest churches in El Salvador and a local market for pupusas.

We will then travel to La Union for overnight accommodation.

Day 2

After breakfast, we'll head to the Central American Port of La Union to board a boat to the island of Meanguera for about half an hour to learn about its volcanic origin and the convergence of borders from El Salvador, Honduras, and Nicaragua.

Next, we will visit Zacatillo, where you can try local gastronomy and explore the area at your leisure for two hours.

We will also visit Isla Conejo, a small island currently in dispute with Honduras.

Finally, we will return to La Union and back to San Salvador, where the tour ends.

Accommodation

The tour includes one night's accommodation at a 4-star hotel and breakfast on the second day.

Pickup

This tour includes pickup from hotels in San Salvador and El Tunco. Pickup time from El Tunco will be 40 minutes before the indicated time.
