No trip to El Salvador would be complete without visiting its picturesque villages. Color, tradition, and artwork fill the streets of Juayúa, Nahuizalco, Apaneca, and Ataco, making the Ruta de las Flores a special experience.
Description
After picking you up at designated points, we'll head to the Ruta de las Flores, the country's most famous stretch of road known as the Route 66 of El Salvador.
Our trip includes a scenic drive through colorful villages. The first stop will be Juayúa, where you will learn the story behind its name. At 3,300 feet, we will explore the historic center, highlighting the church of Santa Lucía and the parish church of Cristo Negro.
Next, we will visit Nahuizalco for one hour, where you can meet speakers of the indigenous Nawat language and discover historic weaving and hat-making traditions.
Apaneca will welcome us with colorful houses around the central square, where you can meet locals and browse handicraft shops.
After around one hour, we will continue to Ataco, at 3,900 feet above sea level, known for colorful street murals and a vibrant central park. You will spend over an hour immersing in local culture and can try artisan coffee.

If you prefer pickup at your hotel in San Salvador, there is a supplement of 10 USD per person payable in cash on the tour day. Pickup from your hotel in Tunco has a supplement of 20 USD per person.
