No stay in San Salvador is complete without taking an excursion to one of the local towns. Suchitoto will greet you with its elegant architecture and picturesque cobblestone streets, making it an ideal place to experience Salvadoran culture.
Suchitoto Trip
After picking you up from your selected meeting point in San Salvador, we will begin our journey to a national park area of lakes and volcanoes, encountering the Santa Ana Volcano, also known as Llamatepec, at 7,812 feet above sea level. After a one-hour drive, you will see the 18th-century buildings that make this a popular tourist destination.
During our stroll through the cobbled streets, it will seem as if time has stood still since the colonial era. We will visit one of the most important historical buildings in the city: the church of Santa Lucia.
You will learn about how Suchitoto was founded by the indigenous Pipil people in the 11th century, with their cultural heritage evident in the artisan shops and art galleries lining the streets.
At the end of the visit, we will drive back to our meeting point in San Salvador.
