Tour of El Boquerón National Park

Dare to visit one of San Salvador's active volcanoes with this excursion to El Boquerón National Park, one of the most important natural reserves in the region!

Description

At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up at your hotel. We'll board a comfortable bus to El Boquerón National Park, a protected area of more than 54 hectares.

On the way, we'll stop at the Reconciliation Monument, a significant sculpture. We'll continue to "The Little Prince" Theme Park in Santa Tecla to learn about Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's relationship with El Salvador.

We'll then arrive at the protected area, located over 4,265 ft (1,300m) above sea level, at the top of the San Salvador volcano. We'll visit the Interpretation Center of the History of Eruptions, important for understanding the region's active volcanoes.

After the Interpretation Center, we'll ascend approximately 1,476 ft (450m) to see the crater of the San Salvador volcano. You'll learn about the last major eruption that occurred around 100 years ago. We'll return down through the trails of El Boquerón National Park, observing the local flora and fauna.

Next, we'll visit an area to see the solidified lava from the last eruption. Finally, we'll return to your hotels in San Salvador or El Tunco after around this journey.
