Lake Tota Day Trip

On this day trip to Lake Tota, we'll visit the inland sea of Boyaca and explore nearby villages.

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunja to begin our adventure to Lake Tota. Along the way, we'll stop in the town of Paipa to enjoy Colombian coffee with cheese and an almojábana, a traditional bread roll. Next, we will proceed to Aquitania for a tranquil boat ride on Lake Tota, Colombia's largest lake.

During the excursion, we will visit San Pedro Island to appreciate its scenery. After returning to Aquitania, a traditional lunch will be served, including an appetizer, freshly caught lake trout as the main course, and a beverage.

Following lunch, we will explore the Customs Museum of Aquitania and tour key villages around Lake Tota. Our first stop will be Iza, known for its signature dessert.

We will then proceed to Cuitiva and Tibasosa, where we will enjoy a traditional feijoa sabajón, a popular regional liqueur. Finally, we will return to your hotel in Tunja, approximately 10 hours after pickup.
