Lake Tota Day Trip

On this day trip to Lake Tota, we'll visit the inland sea of Boyaca to immerse ourselves in the Andean scenery and explore the nearby villages.

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel in Tunja to kick off our adventure to Lake Tota, known as the inland sea of Boyac.

Halfway through this journey, we'll pause in the town of Paipa for Colombian coffee with cheese and a traditional bread roll called almojábana. Following this, we'll proceed to Aquitania for a boat ride on Lake Tota, Colombia's largest lake.

During our trip, we will visit San Pedro Island and enjoy the scenery before cruising back to Aquitania. Upon arrival, we'll have a traditional lunch with an appetizer, lake trout as a main course, and a beverage.

Afterward, we’ll visit the Customs Museum of Aquitania to see folkloric exhibitions and tour key villages around Lake Tota. Our first stop will be Iza to sample its signature dessert.

We will then continue to Cuitiva and Tibasosa. In Tibasosa, we will enjoy a feijoa sabajón, a popular traditional liqueur. From Tibasosa, we’ll return to your hotel in Tunja, approximately 10 hours after pickup.
