On this tour of the museums of Tunja, you'll discover the cultural heritage of the capital of Boyaca, one of Colombia's notable cities.

Delve into Boyaca

At the scheduled time, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Tunja to begin your visit to Boyaca's museums.

Your tour will start at the Luis Gonzalo Andrade National History Museum, focusing on Colombian biodiversity. Adjacent to this museum is the herbarium of the Pedagogical and Technological University of Colombia, featuring various mosses, lichens, and other botanical species used in their investigations.

The next stop is the PTUC Museum of Medicine and Health, where you will learn about the evolution of body and mind care. After this, you will visit the PTUC Museum of Archeology, showcasing a pre-Hispanic collection from the Herrera and Muisca cultures.

A brief traditional lunch break at a city restaurant will follow, consisting of a starter, a Bocayanese-inspired main course, and a drink. After the meal, you'll proceed to the Gustavo Rojas Pillas Cultural Museum, focusing on the history of this former Colombian president.

The next visit will be to the Gonzalo Suarez Rendon House-Museum, the former residence of Tunja's founder, followed by a stop at the Museum-House of writer Don Juan de Vargas, where you will explore the colonial history of Boyaca.

The tour will conclude 5 hours later upon returning to your hotel in Tunja.
