At the designated time, pick-up will be from your hotel in Phnom Penh for a trip to the hilltop temple complex of Phnom Baset, located 18 miles (30 km) northeast of the city. During the journey by air-conditioned bus, a stop will be made in a village with a significant Muslim community of Cham people.

After learning about Cham traditions and culture, continue to Phnom Baset. Atop a hill surrounded by green plains and rice paddies, the historic Buddhist buildings are notable. Noteworthy sights include the 8th-century Pre-Angkorian temple and the Phnom Baset pagoda, housing the famous reclining Buddha.

Next, proceed to Udong, a former capital of Cambodia. The itinerary includes a break for a typical picnic lunch, after which the visit will continue to the town's many different temples.

Udong features three large stupas containing the ashes of three significant kings. Explore the detailed decorations of these stupas while the guide shares historical insights. Visit the Vihara of the 18 Cubit Buddha, an enormous Buddha statue that remains a highlights despite its damage from past conflicts.

Finally, return to Phnom Penh, stopping in Kompong Luong to learn about local handicrafts and view unique objects produced in the area.
