Follow the traces of the Roman Empire and the Nuragic civilization in this archaeological tour of Olbia. Ancient fortresses and cave monuments await!

Olbia Archaeology Tour

At 2 pm we'll meet at Molo Brin near Olbia's marina. We'll hop into a tuk tuk and start a tour of the archaeological sites of this Sardinian city.

During our tour, we'll make several stops at various monuments for exploration, enhanced by a provided audioguide in English.

The first stop will be at the Basilica of San Simplicio, a Romanesque temple from the 11th century. Next, we will visit the Roman aqueduct of Olbia, which supplied water to the city from the nearby mountain of Cabu Abbas, followed by the ancient Roman cistern used for rainwater storage.

Before the Romans, the area was home to a Nuragic settlement from the Bronze Age. We will see the ruins of the sacred well Sa Testa and the Giants' Grave of Su Mont'e s'Abe, notable for its massive structures reaching 92 feet (28 meters) in height.

Lastly, we'll visit the exterior of Castello di Pedres, a 13th-century castle that originally featured four towers, one of which remains today.

We'll conclude the tour at 5:30 pm at the starting point.
