1 or 2-Day Excursion to the Huilloc Community

Travel to one of the rural Quechuan towns in the Peruvian Andes and learn about their cultures on this trip to the Huilloc community.

1-Day Tour

At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and make our way to the Huilloc community. Upon arrival, we'll be welcomed by the members of a craftswomen's cooperative in the textile-producing town, who will provide a demonstration about their fabrics and culture. We'll have lunch consisting of Pachamanca, which includes chicken and potatoes or sweet potatoes. Before departing, you'll have the opportunity to purchase a fabric souvenir made by the craftswomen. After 6 hours, you'll be brought back to your hotel where the tour will conclude.

2-Day Tour

For a more relaxed experience, consider the 2-day tour option. You will spend an entire day with a Huilloc family and stay overnight in one of their houses. You'll learn about their daily customs, visit a glacier-origin lake, and interact with alpacas, which provide income for many Andean families. During your stay, you will enjoy traditional dishes, including Pachamanca. There will also be time to explore a textile market showcasing local crafts. The next morning, enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast, including tea, oats, eggs, and ponche de habas. The tour concludes at your hotel in Ollantaytambo.

If you choose the 2-day option, all meals are included, along with 1 night of accommodation in a private bedroom in a community cabin.
