Travel to one of the rural Quechuan towns in the Peruvian Andes and learn about their cultures on this trip to the Huilloc community.
1-Day Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and travel to the Huilloc community. You'll be welcomed by members of a craftswomen's cooperative who will demonstrate textile production and discuss their cultural significance.
Lunch will consist of Pachamanca, featuring chicken and potatoes or sweet potatoes. You can purchase handmade fabric souvenirs before concluding your visit.
This tour lasts 6 hours, after which you will be returned to your hotel.
2-Day Tour
This option allows for a more relaxed experience, including a day with a Huilloc family and an overnight stay in their home.
You will learn about their daily customs, visit a glacier lake, and interact with alpacas. A traditional Pachamanca lunch will be shared with the family.
The itinerary includes a visit to a textile market to see regional crafts, followed by time to rest. The next morning, a traditional Andean breakfast will be served, which includes tea, oats, eggs, and an oat drink called ponche de habas.
After experiencing the local culture, you will return to your hotel in Ollantaytambo.
