- 6 Stunden - 2 Tage
- 1 Bewertung
Travel to one of the rural Quechuan towns in the Peruvian Andes and learn about their cultures on this trip to the Huilloc community.
1-Day Tour
At the scheduled time we'll pick you up from your hotel in Ollantaytambo and make our way to the Huilloc community to experience life with this indigenous tribe in the Cusco region.
Upon arrival, members of a craftswomen's cooperative will welcome us. They'll provide a demonstration and presentation about their fabrics and their connection to Andean culture and history.
Next, we'll have a lunch of Pachamanca, cooked in a natural oven. The menu includes chicken and potatoes or sweet potatoes. You will also have the opportunity to purchase a hand-made fabric souvenir.
After 6 hours, you'll be returned to your hotel where the tour will conclude.
2-Day Tour
For a more relaxed experience, consider the 2-day tour option. This includes spending an entire day with a Huilloc family and a night as a guest in one of their houses.
You will learn about their daily customs, visit a glacier-origin lake, and interact with alpacas, which are significant for local income.
A traditional lunch, also called Pachamanca, will be shared with a family. You'll also visit a textile market to see local crafts and have time to rest.
The following morning, enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast consisting of tea, oats, eggs, potatoes, and ponche de habas.
The tour will conclude upon returning to your hotel in Ollantaytambo.
Accommodation and food
On the 2-day option, all meals and 1 night of accommodation in a private bedroom in a cabin within the community are included. Immerse yourself in the Huilloc community!
