In this documentary photography workshop in Ollantaytambo, you'll learn about this art form while exploring the last living Inca town.
Workshop Details
We'll meet at the designated time at Ollantaytambo's Armas Square, in front of the Town Council. After a brief introduction to the workshop, we'll begin our urban exploration.
The first part will consist of a photographic tour of the cobbled streets and landscapes in Ollantaytambo, focusing on Inca architecture. You'll learn to manually operate your devices and apply the 3 basic rules of documentary photography.
At the Mamá Eusebia Chicha Bar, you'll observe the preparation of ancestral chicha, a sacred drink for the Inca people, while discussing local Andean culture's history and tradition. We'll also cover lighting and photographing interiors.
We'll continue through Ollantaytambo, perfecting your photography skills and exploring different perspectives and movements. This village will provide new opportunities to capture living Andean culture.
At the end of this 2-hour workshop, you will have learned to use the manual tools of your mobile device or professional camera as well as gained an understanding of composition and documentary photographic design, basic photography rules, and the use of light, shadow, and perspective.
