Embark on a journey 500 years back in time to discover the daily routines and traditions of the Inca Empire. Experience the essence of their culture as you explore ancient residences and savor a traditional meal in the Sacred Valley.
Guided Tour of Ollantaytambo
Join us at Plaza de Armas to commence this guided exploration of Ollantaytambo. From there, we will make our way to the Incan neighborhood known as Qosqo Ayllu, where the legacy of the past lives on through its streets, squares, and sacred sites.
During our visit, we will delve into the historical interactions between the Inca civilization and the Huari culture, shedding light on the intermingling of traditions, beliefs, and social customs. You'll be moved as we tour houses that have stood for over 500 years. Additionally, we'll wander along the cobbled pathways to appreciate the ingeniously designed waterways established by the Incas.
Our next stop will be Pata Calle, where we will arrive at the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo. Here, we will recount the touching tale of Ollanta and Cusiqollor before continuing our exploration by hiking up to Pinkulluna Mountain to observe the remarkable Incan granaries.
A one-hour intermission will follow, allowing us to enjoy a traditional Peruvian lunch featuring fresh ingredients sourced from the Sacred Valley, complete with an appetizer, soup, and a beverage.
After approximately 3 hours, our guided adventure through Ollantaytambo will conclude as we return to our starting point.
