Train to Machu Picchu

When making your booking, you can choose from two types of trains for your journey from Ollantaytambo to Machu Picchu:

Expedition train

The Expedition train will take you to Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu. The journey takes 1 hour 30 minutes along one of the most spectacular railway routes in the world, allowing you to admire the Andean scenery from the large windows.

Vistadome train

If you choose the Vistadome train, you'll travel to Machu Picchu with panoramic windows in the walls and ceilings. A recorded commentary will provide fascinating details about the surroundings during the journey.

Alternate Stop

Note that if you choose the Expedition or Vistadome train departing at 5:05 am, 12:55 pm, or 7:04 pm, the train will not drop you off at Aguas Calientes station. Instead, you will arrive at Avenida Imperio de los Inkas station, a 5-minute walk from Aguas Calientes station.

Limited availability

This popular activity has limited ticket availability. Booking your ticket as far in advance as possible is recommended to ensure a spot. After booking, you will receive your official train tickets within 72 hours.
