Discover the best-kept secret in the province of Castellón on our day trip to the Caves of Sant Josep. We'll see a natural area as we explore these caves on foot and by boat.

Caves of Sant Josep Day Trip

At 3:25 pm, we'll meet in front of the Oropesa del Mar Tourist Office. From here we'll drive our minibus to the Sierra Espadán Natural Park, where the municipality of Vall de Uxó is located. The Caves of Sant Josep await.

After a 50-minute drive, we'll arrive at the Caves of Sant Josep, the most famous natural attraction in Castellón and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

We'll then take a boat trip to explore the Vall de Uxó caves. As we sail along the longest underground river in Europe, we'll discuss the geological features of the caves. From the boat, you'll also be able to see stalactites and stalagmites.

Next, we will walk through the 250-metre long gallery to observe the history of this site. The Caves of Sant Josep were inhabited over 15,000 years ago, as evidenced by cave paintings and animal bones discovered here.

After 40 minutes of exploring the caves, we'll return to the surface and admire the surrounding area. Finally, we'll return to the minibus and head back to Oropesa del Mar, arriving at 7:35 pm.
