Excursion to Maestrazgo Mining Park & Culla

Our journey begins at 8:45 am, where we will meet at the Tourist Office in Oropesa del Mar. From there, we will board a minibus heading towards the Maestrazgo Mining Park, a hidden gem located in the Alto Maestrazgo region.

Once we arrive, we'll take a ride on a mining train that transports us to the entrance of the Victoria mine. After equipping ourselves with safety helmets, we will embark on an exciting exploration of this well-known underground passage.

Throughout the journey, informative videos will provide insights into the conditions faced by miners centuries ago. We will discuss the various minerals extracted and the tools utilized, many of which can be seen within the mine's premises.

Next, we’ll continue to the Esperanza mine, where we will further explore the natural structure of the galleries. Here, you will have the chance to observe captivating stalactites, vertical shafts, and underground root systems.

After our mining adventure, we will proceed to Culla, a historic site significantly linked to the Order of the Temple. On a guided walkthrough of the town, we will stroll along its quaint cobbled streets while unraveling its rich past. Highlights will include visits to the key monuments such as the 11th-century Arab castle, the Granero del Comendador, and the old hospital.

As our excursion concludes, we will make our way back to Oropesa del Mar via minibus, with an expected arrival time of 1:45 pm.
