Climb to the top of Supramonte in an off-road vehicle and enjoy incredible views of Sardinia at more than 1,400 meters above sea level with this 4x4 tour of Barbagia.

Barbagia 4x4 Tour

At 8:30 am, we will pick you up at Piazza del Popolo in Orosei and head south in a 4x4 vehicle.

The first stop will be at the Nuragic complex of sa Sedda 'e sos Carros, an archaeological site in the Lanaittu Valley, Nuoro province. We will learn about the Nuragic peoples and their worship of water during the Bronze Age, around 3,000 years ago. Their structures surround a unique sacred well.

After this, we will continue to the springs of Su Gologone, located at the foot of Mount Uddè, noted for its karst spring with waters flowing into a lake of blue and emerald green.

Next, we will visit the Corbeddu Cave, which contains the oldest hominid remains in Sardinia, dating back around 20,000 years. The area also holds important fossils, including those of extinct species like the ancestor of modern deer (Megaloceros cazioti) and Prolagus sardus.

Finally, between 12:30 and 1:30 pm, we will return to the meeting point in Orosei.
