Why Visit The Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg?
At the indicated time, make your way to Château du Haut-Koenigsbourg, where you'll step into 900 years of history. Built by the Hohenstaufen family in the 12th century, the castle has changed hands among influential rulers, including the Habsburgs in the 15th century. After being abandoned for centuries due to destruction in the Thirty Years' War, the Château was restored in 1900 by Wilhelm II of Germany. Today, it serves as a historical and educational monument, attracting over half a million visitors annually.
With your ticket, you'll embark on a self-guided tour of this fortress. Explore the lower courtyard, the castle's inn, forge, and mill. Climb the spiral staircases to the lord’s furnished chambers, cross ancient drawbridges, and wander through historically rich rooms.
