Take the road less travelled to one of Kyoto's most iconic monuments on Kyoto's No. 1 guided hiking tour of the Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine.
Fushimi Inari Hike
Meeting at your chosen time at Tofukuji Station, we will walk through Kyoto towards the lesser-known path to Fushimi Inari-Taisha Shrine, approximately 20 minutes away.
Upon arrival, we will start a 5-kilometre (3 mile) guided hiking tour focusing on this Shinto shrine, established in 711, dedicated to the Shinto kami of rice and sake. Participants will learn about the beliefs and customs of Japanese religion during the exploration of Fushimi Inari-Taisha.
During the hike, enjoy scenic views of the natural bamboo forests and a small Inari Shrine nearby. The tour will use trails rarely traversed by tourists for a more authentic experience away from crowds.
After the hike, we will walk through the iconic Tori gates featured in the movie Memoirs of a Geisha. This path leads to the highest point of Fushimi Inari-Taisha, offering a panoramic view of Kyoto.
The 3-hour tour typically concludes at the main shrine, although routes may vary.
