Imperial Palace + Nijo Castle Guided Tour

Meet us at the Nijojo-Mae train station at the designated time. After gathering, we will explore the Kyoto Imperial Palace and Nijo Castle.

The tour begins at the Imperial Palace, formerly the residence of the Japanese royal family. The main building, originally built in 1630, was destroyed by fire in 1854, and a meticulous reconstruction was completed shortly after. We will stroll through various rooms of the palace to gain insight into the Japanese court and its significance in contemporary state meetings. The tour also includes the beautiful gardens, the Oikeniwa and Gonaitei, filled with flowers and trees.

Next, we visit Nijo Castle, once the residence of the first Shogun of the Tokugawa dynasty. The fortress features multiple buildings surrounded by a moat, covering over 200,000 square meters. During the walk, observe the rooms decorated with paintings typical of the Edo period and the traditional tatami flooring.

After the guided tour, we will proceed to Imadegawa Station, concluding the experience 3 hours later.
