Designed by architect Mamoru Yamada in collaboration with Kyoto University, its sail-like structure is engineered to withstand earthquakes and typhoons. Your ticket allows access to a building featuring restaurants, souvenir shops, and the Tower Kyoto Hotel beneath the observation deck.

The Best Vantage Point in Kyoto

The observation deck, perched 100 metres (328 feet) above ground, provides unrivalled views of the city. From this height, you can see iconic UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kiyomizu-dera Temple, T?-ji Temple, and Hongan-ji, alongside Chion-in Temple and Sanj?sangen-d?. The deck also offers views of the Osaka skyline on clear days and is a top location for witnessing spectacular sunsets. Telescopes are available on the observation deck for closer looks.

Kyoto Tower is open daily from 10 am to 9 pm, with final admission at 8:30 pm.
