Join us on a journey through time in our free tour of Nara, and explore ancient Japan while visiting significant shrines and temples.
Nara Free Walking Tour
We will meet at Kintetsu train station at the scheduled time. Nara was the capital of Japan from 710 to 784.
Our first stop is Kofukuji, featuring a pagoda that is over 50 meters (164 feet) tall, the second-tallest wooden pagoda in Japan and a symbol of the city.
Next, we will visit Nara Park, recognized for its deer population that roam freely. Nara is known as the "city of deer." Be ready to capture memorable photos.
We will stroll past lush cherry trees and the National Museum, which preserves Japan's Buddhist religious heritage. Additionally, we will see Todai-ji, a major Buddhist temple housing the largest Buddha statue in Japan.
The tour continues to the Nigatsudo Pagoda, a World Heritage Site and part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Nara. We conclude the tour 2.5 hours later.
