Oslo Bike Tour
At 2 pm, we'll meet at Nedre Slottsgate in Oslo to start our bike tour. Our guide will provide insights into the history of the monuments and include interesting facts about present-day Norwegian culture and politics.
The 7-mile (12-kilometre) route begins with views of the fjord as we cycle through Grev Wedels Plass. Our first stop will be the medieval Akershus Fortress, which has existed for over 700 years. Participants will have time to explore its walls and take photos.
Next, we'll cycle to Karls Johans Gate, Oslo's main street, where significant sites include the National Theatre and the Royal Palace with its gardens.
We will then proceed to the Frogner neighbourhood, known for its vibrant atmosphere and iconic colourful buildings. Here, we will explore Vigeland Sculpture Park and visit the Vigeland Museum.
Our tour continues through quiet streets to the Astrup Fearnley Museum of Modern Art. We will appreciate the architecture of the harbour area around Aker Brygge, where a swim may be possible if the weather allows.
We will conclude our tour at Skur 42, 31 Akershusstranda, 3 hours after our departure.
