Description

Located near Oslo City Hall, The Viking Planet offers an engaging historical experience through innovative audiovisual technology. The exhibition addresses inquiries about the Vikings' identity, language, geographical reach, maritime and martial legacy, and the evolution of their beliefs.

The museum features multiple rooms with distinct perspectives on Viking culture, including a movie theater with a 270-degree surround screen, lifelike holograms of actual Vikings, and three-dimensional replicas of ancient artifacts. A key highlight is the virtual reality experience, allowing visitors to board a Viking ship and explore Viking life in detail. The museum received the award for Best Virtual Reality Film at the Aesthetica Film Festival in the U.K.
