On this canoe ride on Lake San Pablo, you'll sail in a traditional boat made from reed with the stunning Imbabura Volcano in the background.

Canoe Ride Details

We will pick you up from your hotel in Otavalo and head towards Lake San Pablo, located 10 kilometers from the town. Upon arrival, you'll learn how local towns construct traditional canoes "caballito de totora," made from reed plants.

Before the ride, we will provide safety measures and necessary equipment. If you have no experience rowing or cannot swim, we will adapt to your level to ensure you enjoy this experience.

During the tour, rowing in double canoes, you may spot cormorants, Andean gulls, and Kentish plovers. Capture the unique landscapes! After 1.5 hours, we'll return to the pier for a light lunch, including a sandwich, water, and fruit, with views of the Imbabura Volcano.

We will return you to Otavalo and conclude at your hotel after this 3-hour activity.

Hotel Pickup

This tour includes hotel pickup only for those staying in the center of Otavalo. For hotels outside this area, we will contact you to establish an alternative meeting point or coordinate pickup with an additional fee.

Inklusive

  • Hotel pickup & drop–off
  • Transport by car or minibus
  • English–speaking guide
