Join us for an excursion to the Sandy Turtle Conservation Center located at Mahahual Beach, where you will gain insights into these charming creatures of the Mexican Caribbean and their environmental significance!
Excursion to Sandy Turtle Conservation Center
Our adventure begins at the prearranged meeting spot, the Mahahual Lighthouse, from where we will journey to the Sandy Turtle Center. During our trip, you will discover valuable information regarding turtles and the issues of ocean pollution.
After a scenic drive lasting approximately 40 minutes, we will reach the center, where an informative session awaits. Here, we will learn about the detrimental effects of plastic waste on marine life and observe the various initiatives aimed at protecting our environment. Following this, we will come together to participate in a beach cleanup at Mahahual, making our contribution toward combating ocean pollution!
Once our cleaning efforts conclude, we will enjoy a refreshing selection of fruits and pastries to rejuvenate ourselves.
After the snack break, we will delve into the second segment of this excursion, exploring the enchanting realm of sea turtles. Our accompanying biologists will share insights about the white turtle and the loggerhead sea turtle. To round off this enriching experience, we’ll stroll along the beach searching for turtle replicas and their nests!
In conclusion, we will make our way back to our original meeting point, wrapping up this engaging 4-hour activity.
