Are you eager to explore the vibrant marine ecosystem along the Costa Maya? This snorkeling excursion in Mahahual offers an unforgettable opportunity to observe sea turtles gracefully gliding through crystal-clear waters.
Description
We'll gather at the specified time at the diving center within Blue Kay, located in Mahahual. Here, introductions will be made, and participants will be provided with life jackets and snorkeling gear.
Once suited up, we'll board our boat, equipped and ready, and head towards the southern coastline of Mahahual. As we navigate, we will follow the shore to reach the reef area, safeguarded by a natural barrier.
When the boat is securely anchored, we'll prepare to immerse ourselves in the water. Our snorkeling site boasts a depth of nearly 2 meters (6.5 ft) and features two main areas: the seagrass zone and the coral zone.
The seagrass zone is particularly renowned for being a habitat for sea turtles, as it provides essential food for these incredible creatures. Meanwhile, the coral zone is teeming with vibrant tropical fish, lobsters, squid, and an array of beautiful marine plant life. With a bit of luck, we might even spot thornback stingrays and the majestic eagle ray. There's so much to uncover!
After a captivating 1.5 hours in the water, we will return to our original meeting point to conclude our adventure.
