Otranto Private Tour

On our Otranto private tour, you'll explore the easternmost city in Italy with a guide dedicated to you and your group.

Description

At your chosen time, we'll meet in Piazza Castello in Otranto, located in the heel of the Italian boot. The tour starts with a walking exploration of the old quarter and its iconic buildings.

We will view the façade of the 15th-century Aragonese Castle and discuss the historical periods and civilizations of Otranto, including the Romans, Lombards, Ottomans, and Venetians.

During our stroll, we will see churches, the harbour, the beach, the Monument for the Martyrs of Otranto, among other sites. Additionally, we will visit the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Annunciation, an example of Apulian Romanesque architecture, where we will observe the ancient mosaics and their symbolism.

After a 1.5-hour private tour of Otranto, we will conclude the visit outside the cathedral.
