Description

At your chosen time, we'll meet in Piazza Castello in Otranto, located in the heel of the Italian boot. From there, we will begin a walking tour of the city's iconic buildings.

We will visit the 15th-century Aragonese Castle and discuss the various historic periods and civilizations that Otranto has seen, including the Romans, Lombards, Ottomans, and Venetians.

We will walk through the town's streets to see churches, the harbour, the beach, the Monument for the Martyrs of Otranto, and more. We will enter the Cathedral of Saint Mary of the Annunciation, an example of Romanesque architecture, where we will admire the ancient mosaics and their meanings.

After a 1.5-hour private tour of Otranto, we'll conclude our visit outside the cathedral.
