Explore the city of the prophets with us on this excursion to Congonhas from Ouro Preto to discover the secrets of this town in Minas Gerais. We'll see its most emblematic monuments and visit the museum.

Day Trip to Congonhas

At 9 am we'll pick you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto and head to Congonhas. The minibus ride will take a little over an hour.

Upon arrival, we'll walk through the charming streets of this town founded in the seventeenth century. We'll see the facades of its colonial houses and approach the Passinhos, a set of chapels with murals of the Passion of Christ.

Next, we'll visit the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, a World Heritage Site. The temple features 12 sculptures of the Old Testament prophets by Aleijadinho, regarded as a prime example of Brazilian Baroque.

The tour will conclude at the Congonhas Museum, offering deeper insights into the town's history.

We'll end the tour at 1 pm, returning you to your hotel.
