Explore the city of the prophets with us on this excursion to Congonhas from Ouro Preto. We will see its most emblematic monuments and visit the museum.

Day Trip to Congonhas

At 9 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto and head to Congonhas. The minibus ride will take a little over an hour.

Upon arrival, we will walk through the charming streets of this town founded in the seventeenth century, viewing the facades of its colonial houses and the Passinhos, which are chapels depicting the Passion of Christ.

Next, we will visit the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, a World Heritage Site. The temple features 12 sculptures of Old Testament prophets at the entrance, created by Aleijadinho, recognized as exemplary Brazilian Baroque.

Our last stop will be the Congonhas Museum, where we will further explore the history of this town. The tour concludes at 1 pm, with return to your hotel.
