Day Trip to the Maquiné Cave & Cordisburgo

Pickup from your hotel in Ouro Preto will be at 8 am for a three-hour minibus journey to the Maquiné Grotto.

Discovered in the 19th century, this well-preserved cave features diverse rock formations. We will guide you in identifying various animal shapes and characters within the cave.

Next, we will visit Cordisburgo, the birthplace of João Guimarães Rosa, a notable Brazilian writer. The visit includes a museum dedicated to his life and contributions.

During the Cordisburgo tour, you will see key locations, including the Portal Grande Sertão, the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, and an open-air museum with animal sculptures. You will also have an hour and a half of free time to have lunch at a local restaurant.

The tour will conclude at 5 pm with a return to your hotel.
