On this tour to Tiradentes and Congonhas, we'll explore the history of the European colonizers of the 17th and 18th centuries and visit the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, a World Heritage Site.

Day Trip to Tiradentes & Congonhas

At 7 am, we will pick you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto to start the excursion to two historical cities in Minas Gerais.

The first stop will be in Congonhas, established in the 17th century by early settlers. A guided tour will provide insights into this city's history as we explore its old town.

We will stroll through Congonhas, visiting key sites like the Chapel of the Steps, colonial houses, the History Museum, and the Sanctuary of the Good Jesus of Matosinhos, showcasing European Baroque architecture.

Next, we will head to Tiradentes, recognized for its colonial buildings. During the tour, we will visit the old jail, the Church of San Antonio, and a museum that highlights the city’s past, followed by two hours of free time for lunch.

The tour will conclude at 5 pm, with a drop-off at your hotel in Ouro Preto.
