Visit two historic cities in Minas Gerais in one day on this tour to Tiradentes and São João del-Rei, exploring the origins of these colonial towns.

Day Trip to Tiradentes & São João del-Rei

After picking you up at your hotel in Ouro Preto at 7 am, we'll head southwest to São João del-Rei. The minibus ride will take about three and a half hours.

Once in São João del-Rei, we'll take a guided tour of the town, which dates back to 1713. You'll stroll through the historic center, seeing the colorful low houses.

During the tour, we'll visit the churches of Carmen and Pilar, notable examples of Brazilian colonial baroque art. You'll also visit the Tancredo Neves museum-memorial to learn about this politician from São João del-Rei. Afterward, you'll have an hour of free time for lunch.

The next stop is Tiradentes, also founded in the 18th century. Here, we'll tour the old town and its main monuments, including the church of San Antonio and the old jail. We'll also visit the Padre Toledo Museum, resembling the style of noble houses in Portugal.

We'll conclude the excursion at 5 pm, returning you to your hotel.
