A World Heritage City and the former capital of Minas Gerais feature in this tour of Ouro Preto and Mariana. We'll see impressive baroque churches, visit two historical museums and enjoy unforgettable views of the mountains surrounding these towns.

Ouro Preto & Mariana Tour

After picking you up at your hotel at 8:30 am, we'll start a tour of Ouro Preto to discover the charms of this World Heritage City.

We'll first visit the church of San Francisco, a symbol of this historic town. While we admire its façade and walk through its chapels, we'll reveal the secrets of this work by Aleijadinho, a key figure in the baroque style in Minas Gerais.

Afterwards, we'll go to the Carmo church and visit the Inconfidência Museum. This exhibition will allow us to delve into the past of Ouro Preto, discovering its foundation in the 18th century and its historical significance as Vila Rica. Before leaving, we'll visit the Oratory Museum, notable for its valuable art pieces.

We'll provide an hour and a half of free time for lunch before boarding the minibus to the ancient capital, Mariana.

We'll visit Minas Gerais square for a panoramic view of the colonial houses and surrounding mountains.

During the guided tour of Mariana, we'll see the churches of Carmen and San Francisco, the Town Hall, and other iconic buildings, including the Pelourinho, where colonial penalties were enforced.

The tour will end at 5:30 pm when you'll be dropped back at your hotel in Ouro Preto.
