  • 8 Stunden

On the private tour of Ouro Preto, you'll visit this Brazilian colonial city's main attractions and baroque architecture with an English-speaking guide just for you.

Description

We'll pick you up from your hotel for a private tour of Ouro Preto. The city, initially named Vila Rica, has a rich history tied to Brazil's gold route. You will travel through the historic heart of Ouro Preto in a minibus to see its significant landmarks, including renowned baroque architecture found in its squares, fountains, bridges, and churches.

Highlights include the Church of São Francisco de Assis, a work of Aleijadinho, the Church of Pilar with its golden hues, and the Church of Carmo, known for its Rococo style. Other visits will feature the Church of Santa Efigênia and the Chapel of Padre Faria to explore the region's artistic heritage.

The itinerary also includes Tiradentes Square, the Inconfidência Museum, the Municipal Theater, and the Casa dos Contos Museum, providing insights into the city’s revolt against Portuguese rule. We will visit an actual gold mine to understand the importance of gold extraction, concluding with a view from the Morro de São Sebastião viewpoint.

The total duration of the tour will be approximately six and a half hours, after which we'll return you to your hotel.
