On this tour of Ouro Preto, we will explore the history of this city, integral to Brazilian independence, highlighting its churches, museums, and the gold rush era.

The tour begins at 9 am with a hotel pickup in Ouro Preto. We will visit the main monuments of the city, uncovering its secrets.

Ouro Preto, originally known as Vila Rica, was significantly impacted by the gold rush of the 18th century. During our walk through the historic center, we will visit three notable religious buildings, starting with the Church of San Francisco, designed by renowned baroque artist Antônio Francisco Lisboa.

We will also observe the intricate interior of the Pilar church and visit the Carmo church. Additionally, we will enter the Oratory Museum, which showcases over 150 religious images from the 17th to 20th centuries.

A lunch break will be provided at a restaurant of your choice.

Post-lunch, we will head to the Inconfidência Museum to discuss the 1789 revolt aimed at achieving Brazilian independence from Portugal, coinciding with the French Revolution.

The tour concludes at 4 pm with a drop-off at your hotel in Ouro Preto.
