Pristine valleys, the beautiful towering Chilean Andes, a night sky lit up by a blanket of stars, and other natural gems await you on this 2-day stargazing expedition through the Quebrada Amarilla.

2-Day Stargazing Expedition

Day 1: Ovalle - Quebrada Amarilla

Pickup at 8 am from your hotel in Ovalle, followed by travel to Quebrada Amarilla. Upon arrival, we will set up camp. After lunch, we'll hike between 3 and 4 kilometers (1.9 - 2.5 miles) through the area, enjoying views of pristine valleys and Andean peaks.

We will return to base camp for dinner and a stargazing experience, utilizing a telescope to observe stars and planets. An astrophotography workshop will follow, teaching you how to capture stellar images. Overnight at the camp.

Day 2: Quebrada Amarilla - Ovalle

Breakfast at 8:30 am at camp, then we will hike along the Quebrada Amarilla stream. This trek covers 1.5 kilometers (1 mile) and reaches a maximum altitude of 3000 meters (9859 feet) for stunning views. After a snack, we return to the stream for lunch before heading back to the vehicle for transport to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving at 6 pm.

Accommodation & Food

The tour includes one night's accommodation in a mountain camp in Quebrada Amarilla in camping tents. Food is not included; please bring supplies for the trip.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels in downtown Ovalle. For more remote accommodations, pickup will be at the specified time at the Plaza de Armas in the city center.
