Join us on an evening hike to witness a stunning sunset in the Coquimbo region of Chile atop Tamaya hill, known for its low light pollution.

Sunset Hike on Tamaya Hill

We will pick you up at your hotel in Ovalle at the scheduled time and proceed to the historic mining center of Tamaya, once a main hub for copper extraction.

Upon arrival, we will start our hike at Tamaya hill as the sun begins to set. The hike spans 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) along a medium-difficulty trail with a height gain of 317 meters (1040 feet).

At the top of Tamaya hill, situated at 1180 meters (3,870 feet) above sea level, we will enjoy breathtaking views and take a quick break for a snack, including juice, a cereal bar, and cookies.

As we observe the sunset over the coasts, valleys, and mountain ranges of Coquimbo, photography enthusiasts may wish to bring their cameras for capturing the landscape.

We will then return to the hike's starting point and head back to your hotel in Ovalle, arriving approximately five hours after pickup.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels in downtown Ovalle. For those in remote areas, pickup will be at the scheduled time at Plaza de Armas, the central square of the city.
