Sunset Hike on Tamaya Hill

Join us on an evening hike to experience a sunset atop Tamaya hill in the Coquimbo region of Chile, known for its low light pollution.

Sunset Hike on Tamaya Hill

We will pick you up from your hotel in Ovalle at the scheduled time and head to the old mining center of Tamaya, a historical site for copper extraction. Upon arrival, we will start hiking on Tamaya hill as the sun begins to set. The hike covers 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) along a medium-difficulty trail with an altitude change of 317 meters (1,040 feet).

Upon reaching the summit at 1180 meters (3,870 feet) above sea level, we will enjoy the views and take a break for a snack, including juice, a cereal bar, and cookies. You will have the opportunity to photograph the stunning landscapes of the coasts, valleys, and mountain ranges of Coquimbo.

Afterward, we will return to the starting point and then head back to your hotel in Ovalle, completing the excursion approximately five hours after pickup.

Hotel Pickup

This activity includes pickup from hotels in downtown Ovalle. For those in remote areas, pickup will occur at Plaza de Armas, the central square of the city.
