If you love history and nature, don't miss this day trip to the lakes and basilica of Covadonga, Cangas de Onís and the Asturian Coast.
Description
We will pick you up at the meeting point of your choice and travel to the east of Asturias to visit the renowned Lakes of Covadonga in the Picos de Europa National Park. The first stop is the Entrelagos viewpoint for a view of Lake Ercina and Lake Enol. We will then visit the Basilica of Santa María la Real de Covadonga and learn about King Pelayo and the Spanish Reconquest.
The tour continues at the Covadonga Sanctuary, including the cave of the Virgin, known as the Santina, and the Royal Pantheon housing Don Pelayo's remains.
Next, we head to Cangas de Onís for a guided tour followed by 2 hours of free time for lunch. This is an opportunity to take pictures by the iconic Roman bridge of Cangas.
Starting from Cangas de Onís means the tour ends there, while starting from Oviedo or Gijón includes a stop at the San Roque viewpoint for views of the coast and Lastres.
Schedule and Pickup Points
The tour includes pickup at the following points:
Oviedo: departure at 8 am from Calle Uría 58, drop-off at 8 pm.Gijón: departure at 8:30 am from the Church of Nuestra Señora de Begoña, drop-off at 7:30 pm.Cangas de Onís: departure at 10 am from Cangas de Onís bus station, drop-off at 3 pm.
Important: Exit from Cangas
Note that if you book from Cangas de Onís, the stop at the San Roque viewpoint will not occur.
