Covadonga Day Trip (Small Group)

The lakes of Covadonga, the Holy Cave, the Sanctuary, Cangas de Onis, and more await you on this reduced-group excursion from Oviedo.

Tour Details

We'll pick you up at your selected meeting point and head east to visit Covadonga. Travel will be via minibus in a small group of up to 8 people.

The journey starts at Ercina Lake in the Picos de Europa National Park, where we will have access to closer viewpoints. You will enjoy stunning views from the Entrelagos viewpoint of the lakes and surrounding alpine landscapes.

Next, we will visit the Holy Cave of Covadonga to see La Santina and the remains of Don Pelayo, the first king of the Asturian monarchy. Following this, we will tour the Basilica of Santa María la Real, a prime example of neo-Romanesque architecture in Spain.

In Cangas de Onis, you will have an hour of free time to explore local gastronomy at nearby restaurants. The tour concludes with visits to the Roman Bridge and Santa Cruz chapel before returning to the meeting point after a total of 8 hours.
