Covadonga Day Trip (Small Group)

The lakes of Covadonga, the Holy Cave, the Sanctuary, and Cangas de Onis are highlights of this day trip from Oviedo in a reduced group. Experience an unforgettable day!

Day Trip Details

We will pick you up at your selected meeting point and travel to Covadonga in a minibus with a maximum of 8 people. Our first stop will be Ercina Lake in Picos de Europa National Park, where we can access closer viewpoints without long walks. From the Entrelagos viewpoint, enjoy views of the lakes of Covadonga and surrounding alpine landscapes.

Next, we will visit the Holy Cave of Covadonga, home to La Santina and the remains of Don Pelayo, the first king of the Asturian monarchy. After learning about the cave's history, we will proceed to the Basilica of Santa María la Real, an example of neo-Romanesque architecture in Spain.

We will then go to Cangas de Onis, where you will have an hour to enjoy Asturian gastronomy at local restaurants. Our tour will conclude with visits to the Roman Bridge and the Santa Cruz chapel, returning to the meeting point after a total of 8 hours.
