On this hiking route along the meanders of the River Nora, we will explore the riverside forests and green landscapes of Asturias.
Nora River Hiking Tour
We will meet at your chosen time in Lugar Priañes to begin this hiking tour along the meanders of the Nora River.
The journey starts with a short walk to a viewpoint near the town center, offering views of the famous meanders of the Nora River, showcasing geological erosion.
We will then descend 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) on an old path towards the access road of the hydroelectric power station on the Nora River, allowing for an up-close look at the facility that generates energy from water.
Continuing, we approach the confluence of the River Nora and the Nalón River, where we will walk along a path carved into the rock, enveloped by lush forest. A short break will be taken here before proceeding.
Post-break, we will ascend through chestnut trees and meadows grazed by cattle. Soon, we will complete the loop and arrive at Priañes park, home to a statue of the well-known Asturian actor Arturo Fernández.
Finally, we will return to the starting point, concluding the route after two hours of hiking.
