With this excursion to Somiedo Natural Park, you'll explore one of the protected areas in northern Spain. It is essential for visitors in Oviedo to discover these less-traveled places.
Tour Details
On tour day, pickup will occur at the designated meeting point, followed by an excursion to picturesque villages within Somiedo Natural Park. The first stop is Alto de la Farrapona, where a scenic walk will take you to the Cave Lake, lasting about one hour. Afterward, we will visit the Somiedo Ecomuseum to learn about the region’s rural lifestyle.
Next, we will proceed to Pola de Somiedo, referenced in Joseph Townsend’s work. Here, you will have free time to enjoy lunch and explore the town. Finally, the tour will conclude at Santa María del Puerto, a village in the Cantabrian Mountains, known for its captivating landscapes.
After the tour, we return to the minibus and head back to the meeting point, arriving within 10 to 11 hours after departure.

Ecomuseum of Somiedo
The Ecomuseum of Somiedo is closed every Tuesday until 1 July 2025. If your tour is on that day, we will visit the Ethnographic Complex of Perlunes instead.
