Cochiguaz Valley Hiking Tour
We'll pick you up at the scheduled time on O'Higgins street in Pisco Elqui and set off towards the Cochiguaz river valley.
Once we reach the trailhead, we will begin our 7-kilometer (4.4-mile) hike of medium difficulty, reaching 1800 meters (5,900 feet) above sea level with a total altitude change of 200 meters (650 feet). The hike includes a nature sanctuary that enhances the experience.
The trail through the Cochiguaz Valley, which means "House of Water" in Mapuche Mapudungun, offers impressive views of the Andean landscapes. Participants have the option to ride a bike to the Cochiguaz River and enjoy a swim. We will take a break halfway for a picnic featuring sandwiches, fresh fruit, and a granola bar.
The hike will lead us to the Las Tolas ravine, highlighting the striking contrast between semi-arid forests, rocky terrains, and lush vegetation.
We will then return to the trailhead and arrive back at the meeting point in Pisco Elqui approximately 5 hours after departure.
